Describe myself in 3 words?
1. Ambitious
In every role I’ve had, but also in my personal life, I try my hardest. I want to enjoy my life and enjoy my job, and I want to feel fulfilled. In my personal life, my most ambitious task to date was to lose 25kg in 4 months (which I managed).
2. People-person
I am very much a people person, and a friendly team is one of the key things I look for in any job. In my career, without thinking and without being big headed, I naturally build solid customer relationships as well as colleague relationships.
3. Lateral-thinker
This is technically 2 words, but I thought outside the box and used a hyphen to make it 1 word. As an example, I once took a food safety course in order to work behind the counter in one of our partner’s stores to identify their needs.
What do I want to gain from my next job?
In my next role, I want to work for a company who have the mentality of a start up. I want the company to be ambitious and to listen to and be open to ideas. I want to work with people with the same mindset as me, who get on well with each other and work succinctly as a team. In terms of sector, I’d like to be working for a company with a fantastic product or service, that’s also exciting. But enough about what I want! What about me outside of work?
I grew up in Northern Ireland, so I benefit from two passports! I moved to England to do a masters and never got around to moving back home. I spent a few years in the north of England and then 5 years in London. I now live with my girlfriend and our dog in the beautiful city of Haarlem. I love going out for food and drinks with friends and I enjoy going for walks on the beach or in the countryside. I really enjoy cooking and I love nothing more than visiting a new country and exploring the area and the culture. I’m currently trying to learn Dutch, which is made harder not because of the pronunciation, but because Dutch are so good at English!
