Account Manager. People Person. Optimist.
Hi, I’m Ross. Thanks for taking the time to visit my site. I am a passionate and motivated project manager, with 9 years of experience in various sectors, including; Online Digital Marketing, Goods not for Resale (GNFR), Ambient Foods and Not for Profit. My experience within a broad spectrum of businesses has enabled me to adapt and grow my different strengths and skills. To date, I have worked for a FTSE 100 corporate, a rapidly expanding online start up, a fast growing independent food business and a charity.

“Ross hit the ground running at Community Links and proved himself dedicated from about a month before he was due to start, by working flexibly with us and his existing employer to enable significant handover from the previous postholder. All feedback from contacts at the accounts he manages is positive – he listens actively, acts swiftly and is available for them. He is on top of all of his reporting and has instigated admin systems to streamline his workload. He is a great team member who knows how to judge a room well. He was a delight to work with.”

A little about my experience and skills
After graduating from a MSc in Forensic Psychology, I decided on the logical step to join a 2 year graduate scheme in sales for a FTSE 100 company selling consumables. Whilst it sounds a little boring, it offered me to a fantastic chance to grow myself and start my career, along with exposing me to high profile partners. Subsequently, I’ve worked as an account manager for 3 of the top 4 UK grocery retailers, numerous global banks and law firms in Canary Wharf, a large clothing retailer and a huge internet services company.
A little about my next challenge
I haven’t exactly kept within the boundaries of just one sector. I’ve gained experience in different sectors, transferring skills where possible. For example, since starting in my current role in September last year, I’ve gained a wealth of experience in websites and online digital marketing, which has enabled me to build this site. For my next job, I want to be in a role with a growing online company, where I am always learning, but where my input and experience is valuable.
And what about me outside of work?
I live with my partner and our dog in Haarlem, just outside of Amsterdam. Outside of work, I love to spend time with friends, and I love to cook. I’ve got a keen interest in music – both playing and listening to it, and I love the feeling of getting on a plane, train or boat and travelling to somewhere new. Growing up in Ireland, I also love going into the countryside or to the beach for walks… something which I took for granted when living in London, but something that I can do here in the Netherlands very easily.
